The fact that I love Christmas so much my toes curl and my face goes all SQUEEEEE isn’t a big secret. Thom, being utterly thoughtful, decided to look up some of the fabulous Christmas destinations on Second Life this year and take me to some of them in the run up to the big day.
The first on his advent list was “Christmas Town 2013” and upon landing, I saw just what I expected to see – a very pretty Christmassy town – and lots of shops. But it hardly stopped there!
Meri and Thom find an empty marching band and decide to take the spots themselves, without instruments
We found the free uniforms and instruments provided
I found trumpet blowing surprisingly easy
Thom can play trumpet in rl so happily drowned me out
We got changed back into our woollies and wandered through the town
A bit more cuddling was necessary – well, it was cold
We found an ice rink! Popped our skates on and hit the couples trick skating balls. Yay!
All the while dancing, we were taken inside the Christmas Ice Palace
The sound media and environments changed as we moved through
We moved through movie sets
Time travelled through Christmases gone by
Is that the Star?
We got a rousing round of applause for our ice dancing before facing the papps
We found a sledging area with lots of soft snow
Thom drove, which worked fine the second time
Until he ditched us into the sea
We found a little sauna hut in which to defrost and dry off, after Thom stoked the fire
We had a really fabulous time, we were there well over an hour and that was without looking in all the shops – we just wanted some great winter wonderland Christmas activities, and we got them.
We tipped the creator for her work and thanked her, before leaving for a mug of hot chocolate.
Why not go visit Christmas Town 2013 in Second Life yourself?
