Second Life Fashion from ReadMeri | Counting on fingers

You know what’s so useful? Counting. As you can see in the picture above, sometimes working out what I’ve spent and what I can still spend (it pained me to pass Record Town on the high street, even though I’m mostly mp3s now) means that I can buy more – and who doesn’t love that?

Counting is also useful when someone knocks your duck off, so you have time to rethink your response. I got a notification today that one group had simply emptied out all its bloggers and said we can look for the opportunity to reapply. Which is something they are absolutely entitled to do, I’m all for keeping it fresh, but a spoonful of sugar would be nice. Something like ‘Thank you all for your work but we want to give other bloggers the opportunity too, please reapply!”. Hmph. Rude.

I’m not saying who, of course, in case after counting to 5000, I decide to reapply in the future.

Counting is also great when you have something coming up which you’re looking forward to. Like, counting how many sleeps til Christmas (104 as of today). Better get shopping, there’s no time to be wasted!

What to wear in Second Life today?

If I were you and I were going to be annoyed at anything in this blog today, it would be my suggestions of ‘try’. ‘Try’ usually means that it probably isn’t available any more through traditional means (if it’s a gacha you might find it on marketplace or with a generous friend, but previous group gifts are sometimes gone forever). But I’m asking you to count to ten and not be mad with me but rather take it as inspiration. Sometimes what makes an outfit feel special is the addition of little things which make it unique (or as unique as a non-creator like me can find in SL). So, maybe instead of those things, you could find an old bag you like, an old purse. I love digging out things I’ve had for ages and using them, it means I’m not the same as each and every person addicted to the big shopping events (although I am).

Cynful’s Ness Tank Top is a new release at their mainstore and on marketplace and it’s a sterling fit. I love how casual it is, I love how you can get it in so many textures and colours and I love how you can adapt parts of it – edging and knot in this case – to suit. However! I forgot to recolour the knot to match the edging and for that I need a slap. Sorry.

KoKoLoReS’s new hair – Ellie – is at Hairology right now. I’m not yet at Hairology but when I am I will come back with a shedload of new hairs and no money. God I love hair. This one made me think of girls with tons of money who have nothing to do but shop and lunch. One day… one day!

Here’s a ‘well lit, no shit’ shot – click to see me huge.

And here is my ‘jigging for the rigging’ video – I’m wondering if that little tank top is up to the job of keeping my jubblies in place. Let’s see…

  1. Oh, I agree with the lack of thank yous, having been the recipient of a couple of those. They could have said… hello, goodbye and thanks for all the fish! 10 points if you know where that comes from. I don’t want to know about Christmas until at least… November. *laughs* And as for Cynful, she’s a great designer on a lot of fronts.

    1. But my front is best right? 😀 And I think the quote is from Hitchhikers?

And yeah… a thank you is nice. I think sometimes people get so busy they forget – I never do. Manners maketh man – 10 points if you know where that comes from!

      1. Your front is definitely best. Correct! 10 points to Meri 🙂 The first thing I thought of was Sting’s song – “An Englishman in New York” but it does go back much further than that and was the motto of Winchester College in the 14th century and also I think one of the Oxford colleges uses the same motto.

What do you think?
