Second Life Fashion from ReadMeri | Shooting Stars

I have a friend who had a fall out with their distance partner (so common these days) and is a bit down about it. I want to be a good friend, so what should I do? Buy ice-cream? Talk about it for hours on end? Ask pertinent questions and make suggestions for rapprochement? Reassure them that it’s not all their fault?

No, none of these are any use this time, I wonder if you can guess why? Yeah… you got it. The friend is a man.

I make no secret of the fact that while I love and appreciate fellow womankind, I find men easier to socialise with, cus you can keep it light mostly, have a beer and a laugh and then depart with no feeling of abandoning anybody.

In this instance, it’s not so easy to be a friend to a man. Men often don’t want to talk about it. They just suffer and attempt to ignore it. Therefore the only way to be a friend to a man who is hurting often is to simply hang out and pretend it’s not happening.

Seems woefully inadequate to me, but I can only do my best.

/me puts on her ostrich costume and resumes being a friend, unless you have any better ideas?

About:

In real life I have a real thing for soft clothes. I don’t like to wear uncomfortable, unnatural fibres and although this should be irrelevant in SL, I am more drawn towards garments that look so soft a cat would choose them to lie down on.

Cynful’s Exposed Top which is new for Ultra this round is one of these items. It’s so soft and comfortable looking, and with one shoulder falling off, a tiny bit sexy too. I thoroughly recommend it as a staple for your wardrobe and with the multitude of colours available (some exclusive to the fatpack) you should have no problem finding one you like. Ultra moved locations by the way, I’ve listed the new one 🙂

KoKoLoReS’s Cody hair is a unisex style with undercut base and I’ve used the bayalage HUD. It’s for sale right now at Hairology which is a super round, being the Anniversary.

Again, featuring some new Mandala jewellery as they are having a half off sale, right now!

Here’s a well lit no shit shot for you – click to see me huge.

And finally, I did a ‘jigging for the rigging’ video, as usual. I feel secure, but will any areas of my mesh body escape the rig when I jig?

  1. Men suffer because there’s very little in the way of a support system for them unless they have a sisterly relationship with a friend. Otherwise, they will not chat amongst themselves very much, but mull over what went wrong in their minds until it’s well ingrained. This means it takes much longer for them to recover from a breakup and the hurt continues into their next relationship where they punish the new partner for a while in order to see if they stand up to such treatment and are not likely to leave. The further removed men get from a relationship of worth, the more they take it out on life and this can be detrimental to themselves and others in one way or useful if they put the energy into advancement in another direction, i.e. work matters. It’s a vicious circle, though, so if you can offer sisterly support in any way, that’d be good. If the man is more emotionally evolved (and some are nowadays), they manage to recover more quickly and start to look for someone new without dragging the past along.

    1. Fabby comment Moz. You said things I suspected but couldn’t be sure of. Yes, trying to be sisterly, and hoping that helps him. Can’t help wishing he’d talk but hey… Not going to push. 🙂
