Second Life Fashion from ReadMeri | Once more round the Billy Bush

highlights

Have you noticed how sometimes things have a distinct pattern? People say, don’t they ‘you wait for a bus and then three come at once’? Well, in my case, I think I must have subconsciously waited for a Billy, because then three came at once.

The very first Billy was a proper scallywag. The street I live on backs onto another street, so our garden meets their public area. I say public area because they don’t have a garden to those flats, they have a grassy back area (no rude comments, thank you :)) The flats themselves belong to the Housing Association and Billy lives on the top floor, facing my bedroom. Billy is partially sighted, but he doesn’t let this stop him being a complete and utter nuisance. Billy drinks a lot, possibly deals drugs (lots of people banging on the door and shouting ‘Billy’ at odd hours of the night). Billy plays very bad music very loud until 4 or 5am. Billy is probably also a pensioner, although I probably only got one good look at him.

Fortunately, Billy seems to ‘go away’ occasionally, sometimes for a few months, which is nice for his neighbours and me.

The second Billy was a cat owned by the people next door. I had no strong feelings about Billy the cat, although my Mum didn’t like him when she came to visit. Her negative feelings soon proved to have a firm basis in fact, when he beat up my boy cat quite badly and we had to take him to the vets. Billy wasn’t around for long after that, I don’t know what happened to him.

The third Billy is the little boy who now lives next door. He’s 3. He seems harmless enough and aside from having a shrill, piping voice that could wake the dead and being allowed out to play in his garden from god knows what o’clock in the morning on the weekends, he doesn’t seem a huge threat to my happiness.

I’m wondering if the man out there now with a humongous chainsaw hacking away at the large (and sound insulating) evergreen area which separates my house from Billy the nuisance’s flat is also called Billy? Maybe it’s a conspirabillicy?

What to wear in Second Life today?

Chair | KraftWork The Restless Rocker vs1.2 (KraftWork Mainstore)
Planter | KraftWork Vintage Toy Truck Planter vs1.1 (KraftWork Mainstore)
Hair | *TKW* Bracke Blondes HUD (Hairology, 10 – 31 Nov)
Outfit | Addams Maria Hoodie Dress & Nuria Legwarmers [Mait/2Sli/3Bell] (Addams Mainstore : Addams Marketplace)

About:

The Addams Maria Hoodie Dress with Nuria Legwarmers is a deliciously warm and cheeky little number from the respected brand for Winter. As you’d expect from a quality garment, you can remove or keep the hood on the dress, you can have contrasting colours as I have on the hood, strings and bottom rib of the dress. The legwarmers come in high or mid (as shown) and in a range of colours which complement the dress shades. It’s a mainstore release and so this means if you’re quick you have a fighting chance of wearing it somewhere not everybody else is (as happens with the events).

I mentioned on Addams last release that it didn’t have in-built knickers, but this one does, and a HUD full of delightful textures just for the undies. The legwarmers seem to be set to mid foot height.

The decor in this shot is by a new original mesh brand called KraftWork. I know the owner, a lady named Nodnol, and she set herself up to learn mesh some months ago and seems to have done a thoroughly good job of it! The mainstore is now open with her initial collection, so go take a looksee.

Here’s a couple more shots including my ‘well lit, no shit’ shot. Click to see them larger.

Finally, here is my jigging for the rigging video. I did alpha arms and shoulders on this outfit as a precaution, but otherwise we’re footloose and fancy free.
