Do you know what I love? Beer! Do you know what I do not love? Hangovers. Bahh Grr Shudder. When I was 20, I swear I could drink all night and not be too careful about mixing drinks, I could dance til 2am, I could carry on at a friend’s house after and then sleep on the floor with narry a drink of water by my side. I could wake at 10 and eat a Pot Noodle and be sound as a pound. I didn’t even look rubbish.
I got up this morning – not the morning after drinking, but a whole day after that, to discover that my eyes are both really sore. That is categorically unfair by anybody’s standards. I thought if I had an easy day yesterday, lots of tea, a good night’s sleep I’d be all fine today. The hangover is spreading, my friends, and it ain’t pretty.
I had a discussion on the Secondlife Reddit the other day with someone who (I suspect) is younger than me and goes out partying. I explained that I did it a lot in my 20s, some in my 30s and much less in my 40s (I’m still only early, I have no idea what the rest will bring) and what I did not explain is that THIS, right here, is why. It hurts way more.
What to wear in Second Life today?

Oh how appropriate that I’m complaining about my age and how I used to be able to party ‘back when’ and I receive fashion from that very era to share with you. Addams Gery Spice & Pantys Set is right now at Rewind, an event featuring 90s themed items for your retro joy. If you are not familiar with the Spice Girls, go straight to Jail, do not pass go, do not collect £200. If you are not familiar with Monopoly either, you’ll be wondering what I’m on about :D.
The dress, however, isn’t only available as the Union Flag (the Union Jack is only called such when it is on a ship, when it is anywhere else, it’s known as the Union Flag), it also comes in a load of other colours and you can wear this anywhere. Seriously, I wore it to go to the supermarket and got only a few raised eyebrows.
RunAway’s Joanne hair is a really lush style, elegant and smooth. I felt very hot in it indeed, especially in the reds. You can find it at Hairology in a load of different colour packs and share the joy.
Bleich’s Mesh Dorothy shoes were just too adorable to walk past at Collabor88 this round. I think you can choose from 8 colours for the shoes themselves and the socks come with a texture change HUD. I think of their addition to this outfit as a slight updating of the look to reflect my refound love of Mary Jane’s in the 21st century.
Here’s a couple more pics including a ‘well lit, no shit’ shot.
And finally, I’ll give you what you want, what you really, really want…
